The camera never lies… Or does it !?!?…

Animals

Some of the fluffy stuff may appear soon, but not too much… Can’t be doing with an overload of fluff… :)

I thought initially this was the Common Blue which is quite rare… That was until I was corrected by Springwatch… Turns out it’s actually the rarer Adonis Blue. So I was quite pleased to find small collection of them not to far from where I live. Even so, they still proved quite elusive and difficult to capture a reasonable shot of.

NO !!.. You Can't Have a Straw... Do it like this...

If I’m perfectly honest, this has to be one of my own personal favourites. Swans always tend to make amazing subjects, but to get this one with the cygnet looking on so intently was a real bonus.

Why thank you very much Roberta. He / She sure wasn’t that easy to shoot as they have a tendency to just fly off when they feel like it, which can then spoil a nicely composed shot… lol.. But I managed to at least get one of them today. :)

  3. Wow! This swan image is incredible! The curled wings, the reflection, the fluffy baby by her side….damn. I would have been grinning for weeks on this capture! Just to be able to witness such beauty and then, gasp! to GET a photo of IT! Truly a blessing. I’m enjoying your photos, Brian! :-)

(BTW..the blue butterfly is pretty spectactular, too.) :-)

        • Haha… Yes I have to agree with you there… They certainly do test your levels of luck… This one however was very much in my “point and shoot, and hope for the best” days… so was extra lucky, but shhhh, don’t tell anyone… ;)

  5. Followed your “take me to the kittens” link here out of curiosity and I’m happy I did. That swan shot is unbelievably beautiful. Your shots are inspiring, especially to a hobbiest/enthusiast photographer like me!
