The camera never lies… Or does it !?!?…

Burnt and Bare

Well you really do have to love the odd bit of Urbex, and who can refuse the opportunity of exploring a burnt out mansion… Not entirely sure what this buildings history is at the moment, maybe a nursing home or something…. but it had obviously been ravaged by fire at some point, which had taken out the main staircase….

But there was an alternative stairwell that we managed to “very” carefully pick our way up to the second floor….which got me this shot looking back down in to the entrance lobby….

However the fire damage and distinct lack of floorboards made exploring much further than the first few rooms just a tiny bit too precarious…. even for me….

But it was definitely worth the visit, just for a couple of shots if nothing else…

What is urbex? Crazy cool shots funky face. Do I detect a bit of selective coloring? Pretty sweet. Love that black and white of the lobby. :) Hope you didn’t scare anyone with your reflection this time ;) hehe

    • LOL… It’s Urban Exploring… as in sneaking in to places where you’re not really supposed to be… But it’s COOL and I HAVE to do more…. It’s the law… Well ok, strictly speaking it’s “against” the law, but that’s a minor technicality… ;)

And yup… Your selective colouring detectors are still working fine…. lol…

    • Lol… Well I have to admit it was a bit hairy up there… and the burnt rafters didn’t look too solid in places… but you didn’t miss much up there, apart from the scary pigeon that is…. ;)
Thanks again for the tour… lol…

  3. Love the second shot, I think you got the angle right, really nice B&W Brian. The first shot kinda scary for me X_X I think because of my own vivid imagination.

    • Lol… Well it wasn’t the most pleasant of places, and the decor left a bit to be desired… But with a lick of paint and a step ladder I’m sure it would be fine… ;)

I went there, drove right up to the front door. i got a few shots but didn’t quite go all the way up stairs. I was on my own and bottled it.

    • It sure made a pretty cool change from landscaping to get in to places like this…. Fresh challenges and the like… Cheers Brian…
